The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law sponsors several student-run journals that publish scholarship by leading academics, practitioners, and judges, along with student notes and comments. Many of these journals also host symposia that bring scholars and practitioners together to examine emerging legal issues.
Cardozo’s current student-run journals include:
- Cardozo Law Review
- Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal
- Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution
- Cardozo Journal of Equal Rights and Social Justice
- Cardozo International & Comparative Law Review
Cardozo students and faculty also contribute to additional publications, including the New York Real Estate Law Reporter and Law & Literature, the latter produced in cooperation with the University of California Press.
Students are selected for journal membership based on academic achievement and writing ability. Second-year students typically serve as staff editors, conducting research, verifying sources, and writing scholarly notes. Third-year students may serve on editorial boards and oversee the editing and publication process. Students receive one academic credit for staff positions and two credits for editorial board roles.
This collection also preserves publications from former Cardozo journals that are no longer active, documenting the development of legal scholarship at the law school.
