Cardozo Journal of Equal Rights & Social Justice
Abstract
The note critiques the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for adopting a technocratic, economic-focused approach to poverty reduction, which neglects the equitable distribution of development benefits and the structural causes of poverty. It advocates for a feminist human rights law approach that integrates Third World Feminism and human rights frameworks to create a more inclusive and rights-based strategy for achieving the MDGs, particularly in empowering women and addressing gender inequalities.
