The Cardozo Law Institute in Holocaust and Human Rights (CLIHHR) has just released a downloadable Teaching Guide on the Reasonable Person Standard, a flexible, free resource that can be adapted for introductory courses or upper-level seminars, class discussions, exam materials and more. It helps students understand what the “reasonable person” standard is in U.S. criminal law as it relates to the establishment of particular defenses.

Dean Melanie Leslie is pleased to announce that Rachel Landy has been appointed Director of the Heyman Center on Corporate Governance and a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law, effective July 1. Landy has been an adjunct professor at Cardozo since 2018, teaching Contract Drafting and Technology Transactions, and as a Visiting Assistant Professor, she will teach Professional Responsibility and Technology Transactions.

She is Senior Advisor for Paid Leave U.S. and an advocate for how the policy supports families and businesses. Sussman has extensive experience guiding young activists, having previously served as executive director of Young Democrats of America, and as founder of Think Blue, an organization to increase youth participation in the democratic electoral process.

There are 51 students in the class, many from the tri-state area, and also hailing from Florida, Massachusetts, Missouri, Connecticut, Louisiana, Texas, California, Iowa, Maryland and Georgia.
