Public Law (P*Law) Advocacy Week is a weeklong, student-led series of events at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law dedicated to exploring and advancing public interest law. Hosted annually, P*Law features panels, workshops, and discussions with legal practitioners, scholars, and community advocates who are committed to justice and social change.
The primary goal of P*Law is to raise awareness and inspire dialogue around the practice of public interest law. Past topics have included education equity, disability rights, climate activism, self-care for advocates, and the legal doctrine of qualified immunity. Through these events, students gain valuable insight into real-world advocacy and build connections with professionals across the public service landscape.
P*Law underscores Cardozo’s institutional commitment to public service by:
- Showcasing student leadership and passion for social justice
- Providing education and skill-building opportunities in public interest law
- Creating a space for meaningful conversation on pressing legal and social issues
- Encouraging engagement with efforts to support vulnerable individuals and communities
Ultimately, P*Law reflects the values of Cardozo’s public interest community and empowers students to become agents of justice in their legal careers.
