Description
The Annual BALLSA Alumni Celebration recognizes the achievements and contributions of Cardozo's outstanding diverse community. Since 2008, this signature event has become one of the school's most anticipated annual gatherings, bringing together the law school's alumni, students, faculty, and friends. The event highlights the accomplishments and successes of Cardozo alumni and demonstrates what is achievable for younger professionals and students alike. All contributions to the BALLSA Celebration support the BALLSA Scholarship Fund.
This year, BALLSA is proud to partner with the Minority Law Student Association (MLSA) to further strengthen connections between alumni and students.
Cardozo Law is proud to honor Maurice Q. Robinson ’09 at the 16th Annual BALLSA Celebration. A true pillar of the Cardozo community, Maurice embodies leadership, service, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting our alumni and students alike.
As Co-Chair of the Cardozo Alumni Association’s Alumni Leadership Council (ALC), Maurice has been a driving force behind meaningful engagement across Cardozo’s alumni affinity groups, including BALLSA, OUTlaw, and Cardozo Women. His thoughtful leadership strengthens connections, fosters inclusion, and ensures our alumni community continues to thrive. In his additional role as ALC Liaison to the Board of Overseers, he represents alumni voices with distinction, integrity, and purpose.
A highly respected mediator and dedicated educator, Maurice shapes the next generation of lawyers and leaders as an Adjunct Professor in Cardozo Law’s Kukin Program for Conflict Resolution. His mentorship reflects both his professional excellence and his deep belief in empowering others to lead with clarity and dialogue with compassion.
As Assistant Director of Workforce Diversity & EEO Compliance at the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, Maurice oversees the enforcement of federal anti-discrimination laws across one of the nation’s largest and most complex public infrastructure systems. His work advances equity and accountability at the highest levels, demonstrating his steadfast commitment to justice in action.
Through his extraordinary professional achievements and civic and public service, Maurice exemplifies the mission of BALLSA, to create more equitable spaces, and he represents the very best of Cardozo Law.
Please join us on March 23 as we celebrate Maurice and honor his remarkable accomplishments.
