Abstract
Chief Justice John Roberts has significantly influenced access to justice through his role in shaping the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. His appointments to the Judicial Conference and its subcommittees have led to rule changes that favor corporate defendants and limit opportunities for individual plaintiffs, particularly through stricter discovery limits and higher pleading standards.
