Cardozo Law Review
Abstract
The first issue of the year had gone to the printer when we learned of the shocking, untimely deaths of Uriel Philip Bauer, last year's Articles Editor, and of his wife, Caroline Lackman. Our sadness has many sources: the accident is an inexplicable abridgment of mutual devotion, of promise, and of hope. Uri left his mark on the Review both in Volume 7 and in this year's editors; all are better than they would have been without his passion, his commitment, his intelligence, and his usually infuriating "Error" stamp. We dedicate this Volume of the Review to his memory, which seems a small thing; let it stand for the hope that Uri would have approved of our work, for the hope that his spirit will always be a part of the Review, and for our grief at his and Caroline's passing.
