Abstract
The article argues that fascism represents a perverted extreme of conservatism that seeks to protect tradition through the total abandonment of reason and the use of violence. By analyzing the omissions in Leo Strauss's political framework, the analysis posits that the only effective response to the fascist challenge is a model of reason rooted in revelation—specifically the rabbinic Jewish tradition—which provides an irrational basis for maintaining a rational community.
