This photo from the 1989 yearbook captures Iggy the Iguana, the iconic rooftop sculpture that once perched atop the Lone Star Cafe at the corner of 13th Street and 5th Avenue in New York City. A beloved fixture of 1980s downtown culture, the Lone Star Cafe was known for its live music and Texan flair. Located a block from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Iggy became a memorable landmark for our students and other locals who frequented the area during their time at the law school.
